Letters to the Editor
Sir, After the recent debacle of her party in the Lok Sabha elections, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, withdrew the cases against the government employees who struck work. Does this mean no cases have been made out against them or that they are not guilty as per the law? If they are guilty, why should the law not be allowed to take its course? The ban on animal sacrifice in temples has also been withdrawn because it is a part of age-old custom. But did that dawn upon the AIADMK Government only after the elections? Why not free power supply to all the people in domestic households and industrial units? Are they not equal citizens? Where is the money for all the freebies that are being doled out?
