AITA junior ranking meet from today

BANGALORE, MAY 30. Points and not prize money are at stake in the 12th annual Century Club-Wearhouse AITA junior ranking tennis tournament which kicks off for under-14 and under-18 boys and girls from Monday, with the finals scheduled for June 5. While the first two days will witness qualifying rounds the main draw of 32 will get underway from June 2.

"The matches will be played at the Century Club and KGS Club courts but in case of rain intervention the courts at the Sree Kanteerava stadium will also be used,' said B.M. Ramesh, the tournament director.

Karnataka's Prateek S. is way ahead of his Tamil Nadu rivals Prashanth Vijay Sundar and Nithyaesh Nataraj in the AITA points table for boys under-18 and looks good to enhance it further.

In the girls under-18 section it is Maharashtra's Kanish Mehta who is comfortably placed.
