LONDON, MAY 30. An India-born Labour MP was evicted from his seat right behind the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in the House of Commons to make way for two white women after they complained that they were not seen enough on television because Britain's oldest parliamentarian occupied the prominent spot. Piara Khabra (79), Britain's oldest MP, was ejected from his seat to allow a vantage perch for the two women in flashy clothes, The Mail said on Sunday. Mr. Khabra told the Mail of the way he was "victimised" for being old and Asian. He said he was confronted by the Deputy Chief Whip, Bob Ainsworth, and told to vacate his seat moments before the start of the Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday watched by millions of viewers. His protests fell on deaf ears and two women members were ushered in to provide a new "TV-friendly" backdrop for the Prime Minister. PTI
