Keralite killed in attack in Saudi Arabia

ALAPPUZHA, MAY 30 . Pradeep Kumar (47), a resident of Mannancherry panchayat in the district, was reportedly killed in an attack suspected to have been carried out by Al-Qaeda on a residential complex in the Saudi Arabian city of Al-khobar on Saturday, his relatives said.

According to the relatives of the deceased, his friends from Saudi Arabia today informed them that Mr. Pradeep Kumar was among the 10 persons killed in the attack. Mr Pradeep Kumar had been working in Saudi Arabia for the last 18 years.

His relatives said that Mr. Pradeep Kumar had telephoned his wife on May 26 and told her that he would arrive in Kerala on June 15 on leave.

Kannan, son of the elder brother of the deceased, said the body was kept at a hospital in Saudi Arabia. "It would be brought to Kerala after post-mortem examination." Mr. Pradeep Kumar is survived by his wife and two children.
