A heady brew!

By Our Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA, MAY 30. The Vijayawada branch of the Cafe Coffee Day, the country's premier and largest chain of cafes, was opened on Sunday. The Director General of Police, S. K. Sukumara, who formally inaugurated the cafe, had a cup of coffee over an informal chat with the invitees. Actor Rajendra Prasad, added a dash of tinsel twinkle to the event. The organisers restricted entry of the public as long as the DGP was present.

The place was later thrown open to people eagerly waiting outside to have a dekko at the new sleek coffee house and its classy ambience.

The organisers of the inaugural show, event managers Shrishti, did a good job of luring a good number of customers from across the city on the very first day.

Television artistes Bhargavi and Sattenna were also roped in to keep the audience busy with some games till the evening, which was reserved for a cultural bonanza. TV artiste, Udaya Bhanu, was a major crowd-puller at the road show which preceded the inauguration.
