Good knock by Maunders

LONDON, MAY 30. Leicestershire County Cricket Club scored 210 against New Zealand at the end of the second day of the four-day match at Grace Road in Leicester. The left-handed opener J. Maunders made a stylish 85. Chris Cairns (four for 48) and Daniel Vettori (four for 60) shared the bowling honours for New Zealand.

Earlier New Zealand resuming at 329 for seven was bowled out for 413. Reserve wicket-keeper, Gareth Hopkins, who was on 40 overnight made a defiant 71, while Daniel Vettori (31) and Kyle Mills (42) added 48 runs for the ninth wicket.

Brief scores: New Zealand 413 (N. Astle 93, G. Hopkins 71, B. McCullum 65, S. Fleming 56, C. McMillan 43, K. Mills 42 not out, D. Masters three for 92, C.
