ISLAMABAD, MAY 30 . In what is believed to be a sectarian attack, Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, Sunni religious scholar, was gunned down today in Karachi. There were disturbances in different parts of the city due to the incident which took place in the morning when Maulana Shamza was coming out of his residence near Jamia mosque, Binnori Town. According to police, he was in a double cabin vehicle when 8 to 10 unidentified men opened fire leaving him seriously injured. He died in hospital. His son, Saleemuddin, guard and drivers also sustained injuries.
