Cleanliness drive launched
Appreciating the efforts of the railwaymen, Mr. Anand said the basic aim behind such a drive in which officers and staff participated jointly was to create team spirit and remove the distance between the two levels. Such activities also generate awareness among the employees and the passengers towards cleanliness, he added. The passengers on the platforms also appreciated the act of joining hands in a collective manner for maintaining cleanliness.
Hard work pays
She scored 97 per cent marks in both mathematics and science and technology and received A1 grade in all her five subjects. Himanshi, who plans to become a doctor, attributes her success to determination and hard work.
Training for IT students
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dikshit said in view of the tough competition in the IT sector, the University considered it important to train its students for placement. He emphasised that students should be proficient in communication and futuristic skills. He informed the participants that the role of a University was to empower through training in developing thought process.
Moral education camp held
The rally started from the Jain Mandir and concluded at Digambar Jain Lal Mandir. The students participating in the rally vowed to remain vegetarian. Displaying banners, they raised slogans in support of moral education. Gifts were presented to the students on the occasion, a media release said.
Workshop for AIDS workers
Speaking at the workshop National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) director Meenakshi Datta Ghosh, said, "NACO is expanding its agenda for the research to include some of the emerging problems such as studies on HIV-TB interaction, HIV-HCV interaction and dynamics specially among intravenous drug users. We definitely look forward to Population Council for a fruitful partnership with NACO in these emerging fields.'' She also added that NACO was also looking forward to strengthen the public-private partnership for strengthening the fight against AIDS care in the private sector, workplace intervention and providing of care, treatment and support to people living with HIV/AIDS.
