Nalgonda
By Our Staff Reporter
The State BJP president, N.Indrasena Reddy, addressing the Assembly segment - level meeting at Nalgonda on Sunday.
NALGONDA, MAY 30. The State Bharatiya Janata Party president, Nallu Indrasena Reddy, demanded that the Government announce the agricultural plan for kharif season. Speaking to reporters after attending the Nalgonda Assembly segment-level party meeting here on Sunday, he said that ryots would be in trouble, if the Government did not announce the plan soon. "The Government should hurry up since there is only a week left for the kharif season,'' he maintained. He asked the Government to issue instructions to the officials regarding the `helpline' announced for debt-ridden farmers. The Government should also give instructions to the officers on the abolition of user charges, he added. Mr.Reddy further demanded that the Government decide on the scheduling of agriculture loans "as the financial institutions were not giving loans for the farming community.'' Earlier, the BJP chief reviewed the party affairs in the district in the light of humiliating defeat of the party in the election. He reportedly evinced keen interest on the exercise since he was the candidate for the Nalgonda parliamentary seat. To a question, he said that the review meetings of Malakpet, Alair and Nalgonda were over and the identification of back-stabbers was in the process. "Apart from the opposition against the local Government (of the TDP), the free power promise given by the Congress also helped the opposition,'' he said adding that the understanding between the TDP and the BJP leaders at "higher-levels" was missing in the ground level. "We (TDP-BJP) take joint responsibility," was his reply to a question on the reported demand for his resignation in the wake of the electoral set back.
