TIRUVALLUR, MAY 30. The consecration of the 32-foot high Panchamukha Anjaneyar idol installed here under the aegis of Sri Viswaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyaswami Trust, Chennai, will be held between 9 and 10 a.m. on June 6. Speaking to reporters today the chairman of Board of Trustees, T.T. Vasu, and trustee, P. Lakshmi, said preliminary pujas and other rituals in connection with the consecration would begin from June 4 evening and culminate on June 6 morning when the idol would be sanctified with holy water. Seven `homa kundams' have been set up for `yaga salai pujas.' The idol has been installed at the Viswaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyaswami Asramam, Periyakuppam. The granite idol was brought from Karnataka to the asramam site in 1991 and the image of Panchamukha Anjaneya was carved out by a team of `stapathis' from Neelankarai near Chennai.
