KOCHI, MAY 30. The Central Government should implement labour and industrial policies that would create more employment opportunities and generate revenue, demanded the State conference of the Punjab National Bank Employees Union (Kerala). The conference demanded the scrapping of the policies pursued by the NDA Government, which led to the closing down of industrial units and retrenchment. The conference elected the following as the office-bearers of the Union: D.S.N. Pillai (president), Thomas Eso, P. Vijayan, T.K. Sarojini and R.S. Jayashree (vice-president) Varghese Raju (general secretary), P.K. Lakshmi Das (secretary), Madhusoodanan Nair, K.V. Girish and M.C. Paul (organising secretaries), K.N. Vinodkumar, K.P. Nandakumar, K.N. Jyothi, Sudesh Sreedhar, Gopakumar (assistant secretaries), George Mathew (treasurer), and Lalit Kumar (assistant treasurer).
