MSVA officials resolve to end dispute

CHENNAI, MAY 31. The Executive Committee members of the Maharashtra State Volleyball Association (MSVA), along with their President, met the Volleyball Federation of India Secretary, K. Murugan, here on Sunday and decided to solve the dispute between two factions in the EC amicably.

After discussions and clarifications both the EC groups and the President unanimously agreed to the following suggestions:

1. The general body meeting of the MSVA should be convened before the first week of August at any one of these places — Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Amaravathi or Nagpur.

2. The district associations which attended the GB meeting and participated in the State championship in November 2003 are eligible for the meeting.

3. Regarding the suspension/disaffiliation of some of the members by the EC, which is disputed, it has been unanimously agreed that the General Council will decide about the course of action before the elections.

4. The ad hoc committees in Pune and Nasik districts will conduct GB meetings to elect new office-bearers. The eligible members are those who participated in the district/State championships in the last three years.

5. On the suggestion for certain amendments to the constitution, a committee will be formed with S.S. Pise, M.S. Barve and B.K. Ojha as members.
