THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 31. The police today filed an FIR before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate here in the case of the controversial poster showing the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, greeting the VHP chief, Praveen Togadia, which was circulated in Ernakulam during the byelections held last year. The FIR was filed after the ACJM, S. Narayana Kurup, directed the police to investigate the matter on a public interest criminal petition from `Niyama Sahayavedi.' Mr. Antony had made the poster controversy a campaign issue in the last Lok Sabha poll, saying it was forged by the CPI (M) to woo minority votes as he had never met Mr. Togadia. However, a section of disgruntled Congress leaders, including the former KPCC general secretary, Rajmohan Unnithan, had also come out in the open saying that they knew who were behind the posters, apparently pointing an accusing finger at the former Minister, K. Muraleedharan, who recently had to relinquish office following his bypoll defeat from Wadakkancherry. - PTI
