Clear morning, cloudy evening
The maximum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung and Palam on Monday were 42.9 degree Celsius and 42.2 degree Celsius, while the minimum were 28.6 and 29.4 degree Celsius respectively. As for the maximum and minimum humidity, Safdarjung recorded 75 and 26 per cent, while Palam recorded 53 and 19 per cent respectively.
Four robbers held
Acting on a tip-off that some criminals had gathered in Pushp Vihar Sector VII to rob a salesman of the cash he was carrying, the Special Staff laid a trap and arrested four persons. The police recovered chilly powder from their possession, revealing that the accused used to throw it in the eyes of their victims before robbing them of their belongings. During interrogation, the accused identified themselves as Vishal Dogra, Mukesh, Ajay Mishra and Laxman Bisht. They confessed to their involvement in at least 23 cases of robbery, auto-theft and snatching.
Pickpockets arrested
The accused, Mohammad Irfaan, Sunny and Abdul, operated in the New Delhi railway station and Paharganj area. During interrogation, they disclosed that they were involved in an attempt-to-murder case of Nabi Karim police station reported earlier this month. Further investigations into their other possible involvements are on.
