HASSAN, JUNE 1. The Executive Committee of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat will meet here on June 11 to deliberate on a draft prepared by a consultative committee formed to amend the Constitution of the parishat. Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, the President of the district unit of the parishat, H.B. Madana Gowda, said the presidents and secretaries of the district units would participate in the meeting to be held at the Sahitya Bhavan. He said the meeting to be held on June 11 had gained importance as a majority of members of the Executive Committee had opposed the proposed amendment to the Constitution of the parishat at a meeting in Bidar. They opposed the proposed amendment to extend the term of the Executive Committee from three years to five. He said the district unit would organise a convention of the presidents of the district units on June 10.
