NEW DELHI, JUNE 4. The Railway Ministry has set in motion the process of simplification of the existing operational and functional rules and procedures to remove ambiguity. This is intended to make available instructions in an understandable and effective form, both in content and mode, to the employees. The objective is to enhance the competence of railwaymen. According to official sources, frequent communication of simple rules, procedures and instructions by use of the latest information technology-based training techniques will be made available in an attractive manner at work places such as lobbies, stations, running rooms for loco pilots and other frontline staff. This will help refresh their knowledge of rules, route and restrictions. Recasting the internal communication system will go a long way in updating the frontline and other railway functionaries with the rules, regulations and departmental instructions. It will also make them more safety-conscious and provide user-friendly services.
