Police inaction suspicious: VS
By Our Staff Reporter
KANNUR,
JUNE 4.
The Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan, has said that the police inaction to avert the violent incident in connection with the scheduled KPCC executive committee meeting in Thiruvananthapuram on June 2 has raised the suspicion about the Chief Minister, A.K. Antony's possible role in the episode.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr. Achuthanandan said that the failure of the police to avert the attack on the Congress leaders, Rajmohan Unnithan and Saratchandra Prasad, in connection with a meeting in which the Chief Minister himself was to attend raised serious questions about the Chief Minister's role in the incident. The incident at the meeting venue was not incidental as portrayed by the police, he said.
