CHENNAI,

Considering that age groups in swimming were restructured only last year, it wasn't a surprise that there were as many as 19 new meet records on the opening day of the three-day 31st State sub-junior and junior Delphi-TVS meet, which was inaugurated by Mrs. Nina Reddy, Director, Savera Group of Hotels, at the Velachery Aquatic Complex here on Friday. The highlight, however, was J. Agnishwar's performance of 2:39.17 in the Group II boys' 200m breaststroke, where he not only bettered his previous mark but also upstaged Delhi lad Sandeep Sejwal's time of 2:43.53 set in the last Nationals.
