HYDERABAD, JUNE 4. K. Srinivas Reddy, a former sarpanch, in Husnabad mandal of Karimnagar district who became physically handicapped following an attack by naxalites, approached the Chief Minister, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, seeking Rs.10 lakhs as compensation, job for his wife and proper education of his children. Mr. Reddy, who is confined to a wheelchair, waited in the Assembly premises along with his wife, to meet the Chief Minister. The representation said his wife, mother and two children were his dependents. One daughter had to be married, while the other needed to pursue higher studies. He himself needed assistance of two persons for personal care. According to the representation, Mr. Reddy had incurred debts of over Rs.10 lakhs for his treatment. He was paralysed below waist after a bullet pierced the spinal cord.
