HYDERABAD, JUNE 4. In the absence of eyewitnesses account, the police are depending more on scientific evidence to zero in on the guilty party in the firing incident in Balakrishna's house. Notwithstanding the reported attempts to tamper the evidence, the city police CLUES team identified the precise place of the incident. Balakrishna, Satyanarayana Choudhary and B. Suresh assembled in the former's office room located in the front portion of his house last night. The police were yet to ascertain the provocation that led to the firing. "We're not worried about the provocation, but trying to find out how it happened," the Additional Commissioner of Police, A.K. Khan, said. When asked if the shooting by the actor amounted to self-defence, he maintained that it was up to the man in question to prove it and not the police. Investigating authorities are keeping records of the blood smears collected on the sofa, walls and floor and beside the table at the spot. By conducting DNA fingerprinting tests, the police hope to find out the relative position of each person in the room. "This gives us a clear picture of their movement as well as direction of the bullets," Mr. Khan said. But, there was still ambiguity in the statement of Balakrishna's relative, Prasad, who claimed to be loitering in the lawns at the time to the incident. Though Mr. Prasad maintained that he heard firing shots, he could not explain as to who shifted Mr. Choudhary to the hospital. The lady cook, the watchman and others present in the house reportedly pleaded ignorance. "Irrespective of their statements, we hope to establish the truth based on the scientific evidence", Mr. Khan said.
