Gustad's team member arrested

MUMBAI, JUNE 5. In fresh developments in the case of accidental death of up and coming director Nadia Khan, the Railway Police today arrested a member of film maker Kaizad Gustad's team on the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder while a sessions court directed the police not to arrest the Mahalaxmi railway station master till June 9.

The police had earlier arrested director Kaizad Gustad, his assistant Ashish Udeshi and woman constable Darshana Wiati in connection with the death of Nadia Khan, who was knocked down by a train on May 25 at the Mahalaxmi railway station during a film shooting. Gustad and Udeshi are in custody till June 10, while Waiti has been granted bail. Hadley D'mello, an aide of Gustad and Udeshi, was today arrested on the charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder (section 302 part two IPC), common intention (section 34 IPC) and causing disappearance of evidence (section 201 IPC).

He was produced before Magistrate D. A, Joshi who remanded him to police custody till June 10 and refused to grant bail.

According to police, Mr.Hadley had accompanied Mr. Udeshi when Mr.Nadia was rushed to hospital. He was present along with Mr. Udeshi when the panchnama was drawn and the complaint was lodged. Hearing anticipatory bail plea of Mahalaxmi railway station master, C. G. Ashokan, the court asked him to appear before the investigating officer and cooperate with the probe.

Mr.Nadia was hit by a train on May 25 when Gustad's team was busy shooting film ``Mumbai Central''. However, Gustad's assistant, Ashish Udeshi, filed a police complaint saying Mr. Nadia was killed in a road mishap.
