CHENNAI, JUNE 5. Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Kerala. Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mainly dry weather prevailed over north interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema. On Friday, the maximum temperature fell largely to markedly at one or two places over Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell appreciably at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, rest Telangana, north interior Karnataka, Kerala, fell at one or two places over rest Rayalaseema and rose appreciably at one or two places over south coastal Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over rest Kerala and changed a little elsewhere over the region. They were largely below normal at one or two places over Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably below normal at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, below normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema, interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala and were appreciably above normal at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, south coastal Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over rest coastal Karnataka, rest Kerala and were generally normal over rest of the region. Adilabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42 degree Celsius in the region. FORECAST (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and north interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Andhra Pradesh. HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, Lakshadweep, coastal and south interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours. Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (Forecast valid until the morning of 7th June): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
