Training for SSA teachers

PERAMBALUR, JUNE 5. An appeal to the primary and elementary schools to take maximum advantage of the teaching learning materials (TLM) supplied under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan was made by speakers at the inaugural function of the training programme for the SSA teachers held here recently.

Inaugurating the training, N.S. Vasu, Chief Educational Officer and District Project Co-ordinator, SSA, said that for the first time, the teachers handling the primary, elementary and middle classes of the Matriculation stream had been included in the training programme.

The SSA teachers also underwent training in creating an awareness among students of total sanitation. Under this programme, 600 teachers were imparted training, he said.
