Himachal asks for Centre's intervention
By Our Staff Reporter
SHIMLA,
JUNE 5.
The Himachal Pradesh Government has requested the Centre to intervene in recovering its due share from the Punjab Government in the Shah Nahar case. It has asked the Centre convene an early meeting of the Chief Ministers of both the States to sort out this issue at the highest level.
The Himachal Pradesh Irrigation Minister, Kaul Singh Thakur, who called on the Union Water Resources Minister, P.R. Dasmunshi, on Friday, apprised him that though the Centre had released Rs. 89 crores as assistance to the State, Punjab had released only Rs. 28 crores, which is affecting the scheduled work.
