Marad: senior officers' order implemented
By Our Staff Reporter
KOZHIKODE,
JUNE 5.
The City Police Commissioner, T. K. Vinod Kumar, today said the police presence in the sensitive Marad was reduced following written orders from senior police officers.
Now around 90 to 100 policemen were stationed in Marad. One company was withdrawn after the Lok Sabha elections and another on June 1. The police was assessing the situation in Marad on a daily basis, he told reporters here today.
Mr. Vinod Kumar said he was satisfied with the performance of the police in Marad for the last one year. The police was able to curtail the possibility of any communal tensions elsewhere in the district after the Marad incidents. Also, one cannot blame the police for all the social disturbances in Marad.
