TIRUNELVELI, JUNE 5. Gold ornaments worth Rs.50,000 were stolen from the house of a sweet stall owner here today. The police said culprits entered the house of A. Shankar (31) of Valampuri Vinayagar Temple Street when his wife, S. Vasanthi, had gone out to give lunch to her children. When she returned home, she found 12 sovereigns of gold ornaments, kept in a locker, missing. The Tirunelveli town police are investigating.
