Muralikrishnan finishes runner-up

KANNUR, JUNE 5. B.T. Muralikrishnan took the runner-up spot in the P.V. Balakrishnan memorial all-India FIDE rating chess tournament here on Saturday. He finished with 7.5 points, after drawing his final round game with B.S. Sivanandan, who'd won the event with a round to spare on Friday.

The placings (ten rounds): 1. B.S. Sivanandan 8.5, 2-6. B.T. Muralikrishnan, M.B. Muraleedharan, K. Ratnakaran, Preetham Sharma and S. Arun Prasad 7.5.
