BJP leaders not invited to ceremony

By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE, JUNE 5. The Bharatiya Janata Party, which has emerged as the single largest party in the Legislative Assembly, was not invited to the swearing-in ceremony of Ministers today.

The top leaders of the BJP, including its State unit President, H.N. Ananth Kumar, had boycotted the swearing in of the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, and the Deputy Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, held at the Raj Bhavan on May 28. It was to show the BJP's disgust with the manner in which the Congress, despite being rejected by the people, had got back to power with the support of the Janata Dal (Secular).

However, with the Government having been installed, some of the BJP's senior leaders wanted to attend the swearing-in ceremony today.

But none of them received an invitation.
