Divya sets two records

VISAKHAPATNAM, JUNE 5. Visakhapatnam's M.S. Divya set two meet records on Saturday, the first day of the 28th junior and 21st sub-junior inter-district aquatic championships at the Aqua Sports Complex here.

She set the records in the 200m and the 50m breast stroke events in the girls group I races. The existing marks in both races stood in the name of Aditi Tomar of Medak. Divya's rival in both races, Mrinalini, also broke Tomar's records though she had to settle for silvers.

The host accounted for four more records through T. Shilpa Naidu (400m freestyle in group I), P. Kailasa Rao (100m butterfly in group I), P. Laxman Kumar (200m butterfly in group II) and R. Jayaram (400m individual medley in group II).

M. Tulasi Chaitanya of Krishna bettered his own mark in the group I 100m back stroke and Jagruti Sharma of Medak set a new mark in group I girls 100m butterfly event.
