Six killed in separate road accidents

NIZAMABAD, JUNE 5. Six persons were killed in three roads accidents in the district since last night.

According to the Kamareddy CI, Rambhupal Rao, a Tata Sumo coming towards Nizamabad from Hyderabad with seven passengers overtook a jeep and in the process hit a lorry coming in the opposite direction and fell into a ditch resulting in the death of three persons. Four others were injured.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening near Sarampalli railway bridge four km. from Kamareddy town.

The victims were identified as Rajamani, (45), Anish Kumar, (20) and Aswini, (4). Those injured included K.K. Kutty, Unni Chikki, Rajani and one-year-old Anush. Rajamani, died on the spot while the other two died on the way to hospital.

The CI said rash driving by the Tata Sumo driver resulted in the accident.

The victims who hailed from Kerala had settled down in Nizamabad town. One of the injured, Unni Chikki, recently underwent heart surgery and had gone along with his family to Hyderabad for a medical check. The accident occurred on their way back.

The bodies were shifted to Kamareddy area hospital pending postmortem.

Tragedy struck a group of pilgrims as the autorickshaw in which they were returning to Nizamabad after a visit to Bada Pahad dargah in Varni mandal, met with an accident.

The autorickshaw was hit by a tractor on the Chandur-Govur road resulting in the death of Syed Ameen, (26) and Ahmed Yunus, (45), of Nanded in Maharastra. Two others -- Ahmed Zakir and Asad -- sustained bleeding injuries and were rushed to the district headquarters hospital here for treatment. The condition of Zakir is said to be serious.

A case has been registered in Varni police station.

A 65-year-old man died when a speeding RTC bus ran over him near Bibipur tanda under Dichpalli police station limits.

Reports said Sailoo, resident of Juvadi village in Gandhari mandal, had come to Bibipur tanda to attend a function when the accident occurred.

The victim was crossing the road when the bus hit him. He died on the spot.
