Rain likely in some areas

Forecast: Possibility of a spell of rain or thundershowers in some area. At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 32.5 degree Celsius and the minimum was 23.2 degree Celsius respectively on Saturday. Rainfall upto 8.30 a.m. was 1.9 mm. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 67 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 73 per cent. At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 37.8 degree Celsius and 24.2 degree Celsius respectively. Rainfall upto 8.30 a.m. was 1.4 mm. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 66 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 61 per cent. The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 32.9 degree Celsius and 21.6 degree Celsius respectively. Rainfall upto 8.30 a.m. was 3.5 mm. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 68 per cent.

Sea Cadet Corps camp ends

The Visakhapatnam Unit of Sea Cadet Corps conducted an annual summer training camp at INS Kalinga near Bheemunipatnam recently. In all, 152 cadets including 24 girls and two officers participated in the camp, according to Lt.D.S. Reddy.

IT seminar

A national seminar on Business and Information Technology 2004 will be jointly organised by the Computer Society of India and the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from June 28 to 30. Aradhana utsav

The Aradhana Utsav of Sri Dakshina Murthy Maharaj, founder of Sri Lalitha Peetham, and Sri Avyaktananda Maharaj, his successor, will be held at the Peetham premises from Monday to Wednesday. Kali homam, Pratyangira homam and Sri Lalitha homam would be performed during mornings by Courtalam Peetadhipathi, Swami Siddheswarananda Bharati.

R.K. beach to be cleaned

The National Institute of Oceanography in the city will clean the beach from R.K. stretch to Palm Beach Hotel on the occasion of World Ocean Day on Tuesday. Those interested in participating in the programme are required to report at the R.K. Beach at 7 a.m.

Seminar on career avenues

ICFAI National College in the city conducted a seminar on `Career Opportunities in Management and Information Technology' for MBA and MCA aspirants on Friday.
