By Our Staff Reporter

COIMBATORE, JUNE 5. The district administration has called for applications from people who want fresh ration cards.

A release from the administration said today that the process of issuing and receiving applications began on June 1 and would continue till June 30.

Two copies of filled-in forms along with passport size photographs should be submitted to the anganwadi staff and an acknowledgement slip should be obtained from them.

While one photograph should be affixed on one copy of the application, the other should be enclosed in a sealed cover and handed over along with the second copy of the application.

After process of applications, issue of ration cards would begin in the first week of August, this year, through the public distribution system (PDS) outlets.

The specimen copy of the application form was on display at the noon meal centres and PDS outlets. Applicants would get the cards only on furnishing the acknowledgment slips, the release said.
