KOCHI, JUNE 5. The Kerala Congress (Secular) will launch a campaign against the State Government's policies which were harming the interests of farmers. The party chairman, P.M. Sunny, told mediapersons at a press conference here today that a vehicle rally highlighting the anti-farmer policies would start from Kumaly in Idukki on June 27. The rally would converge at Kaloor in Ernakulam on June 30 after passing through Kottayam district. Similar rallies would be organised in the southern and northern regions. He said the promises given by the UDF Government were yet to be implemented. Though a loss of Rs. 4,000 crores had been incurred due to drought, the farmers had not received any relief. Even after the farmers committed suicide owing to the debt trap, the Government could not do anything, he said.
