Cloudy sky

CHENNAI June 5. The sky will be generally cloudy with possibilities of shower or thundershower in some areas on Sunday.

On Saturday, Nungambakkam registered a maximum of 36 and a minimum of 25.9 degree Celsius. Meenambakkam recorded a maximum of 35.4 and a minimum of 25.6 degree Celsius. Humidity level was 69 per cent at Nungambakkam and 68 per cent at Meenambakkam.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in parts of Egmore, Sowcarpet, Velachery, Padi, Besant Nagar, S.K. Nagar, Anna Nagar, Mylapore and Anna Salai due to maintenance work.

Quiz on astronomy

A quiz on astronomy will be held for Class VIII and IX students on Wednesday at the Periyar Science and Technology Centre. Examination

Vaccination

Lodge Veerasami Charitable Trust recently conducted a Hepatitis-B vaccination programme for 950 children of Panchayat Union Middle School and Anganwadi, at Nanmangalam, on the city outskirts. It also distributed free notebooks and school uniform to students, a release said.

Celebration

The three-day platinum jubilee celebration of Pamban Swamigal's `gurupuja' will be held at his `samadhi nilayam' in Thiruvanmiyur on June 6. Abhishekam and a religious discourse will also be organised, said a release.
