Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the report that Britain proposes to impose a ban on junk food advertisements on television. It is time the same was emulated by our country too. Not only ads on junk food but also those on freebies such as Pokeman cards, small plastic monsters, tattoo stickers, etc. should be banned. Such advertisements on the popular visual media wreak havoc with the parents' purse besides spoiling the children. Such freebies do not serve any useful purpose anyway.
