This Day That Age
Mr. C.D. Deshmukh, Union Finance Minister, will open the new Cancer Institute at Adyar on June 18. The Institute has provision for diagnosis and treatment of cancer, including inpatient treatment. The Institute has been started with a nucleus fund of about Rs.1 lakh collected from the public and contributions of Rs.1 lakh and Rs. 50,000 made by the Union and Madras Governments, respectively.
