Letters to the Editor
Sir, While highlighting the salient features of the Common Minimum Programme, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said he was committed to providing a corruption-free, responsible, transparent and stable government. But the induction of `tainted' Ministers casts doubts about this. But his helplessness is understandable considering that he is under the influence of different `power centres.'
M. Jagadish,
Sir, If chargesheeted persons can be retained as Ministers, police verification of candidates seeking to join government service should be given up.
Balram Misra,
Sir, It was interesting to see the leaders of the BJP and the TDP march to Rashtrapathi Bhavan demanding the removal of `tainted' Ministers. Our political parties speak for clean governance only when they are in the Opposition.
T.V.R. Potti,
