Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI, JUNE 7. Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Panambur 6, Salem, Hosdurg (Kasargod dt.) and Shirali 5 each, Mani and Puttur (both Dakshina Kannada dt.), Mangalore Airport, Gokarma (Uttara Kannada dt.) and Chodavaram (Visakhapatnam dt.) 4 each, Punalur, Vadakara (Kozhikode dt.), Kunnamkulam and Chalakudi (both Thrissur dt.), Tiruvalla (Pathanamthitta dt.), Honavar and Jayapura (Chickmagalur dt.) 3 each, Periyar (Theni dt.), Omalur (Salem dt.), Agathy, Cannur, Thalasserry (Cannur dt.), Aryankavu (Kollam dt.), Varkala and Nedumangad (both Thiruvananthapuram dt.), Karkala (Uduipi, dt.) and Mandya 2 each and Coonoor, Eraniel (Kanyakumari dt.), Kochi airport, CIAL Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram Airport, Quilandy (Kozhikode dt.), Pattambi (Palakkad dt.), Alapuzha, Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.), Amini Divi, Minicoy, Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Paderu (Visakhapatnam dt.) 1 each. They were appreciably below normal at a few places over Telangana, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, below normal at a few places over North Tamilnadu, Rayalaseema, at one or two places over North coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at one or two places over rest North coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places over South Tamilnadu and were generally normal over rest of the region. A number of stations recorded 40 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (Valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershower are likely to occur at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Rayalaseema.
