PONDICHERRY, JUNE 8. The Health department is working out a plan to upgrade the Government General Hospital here to a postgraduate medical institute. The Health Minister, E. Valsaraj, today held discussions with K.K. Talwar, Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Institute at Chandigarh. A release from the office of the Health Minister said Mr. Valsaraj was accompanied by the Director of Health and Family Welfare Services, G. Subramaniam Reddy. The Minister went round various departments in the institute and saw the facilities available there. He also discussed with the heads of major departments in Chandigarh staff recruitment and administrative and organisational aspects.
