PONDICHERRY, JUNE 8. The Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime and Intelligence), Jaspal Singh, has stressed that human rights are essential to uphold dignity. Delivering a talk on the `organisational structure of police force' as part of the induction course for 19 newly-recruited sub-inspectors at the Police Training School here on Monday, Mr. Singh said the police had a crucial role to play in maintaining law and order and preventing crimes. The Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order), Sunil Garg, highlighted the need for providing training to police officials.
