Pet memories
By Our Correspondent
KAKINADA,
JUNE 8.
A retired engineer of the R&B Department, Nalla Satyanarayana Murthy, has donated Rs.50,000 for the construction of a room in an ashram for aged women, in memory of his pet dog that died recently after having served him faithfully for a decade.
A granite plaque fitted to the wall atop the entrance bearing the dog's picture carved along with its name `Tuffy' has attracted the attention of many, including the chief guest, V. Ramadevi, former Governor and Govind Singh, Police Superintendent besides the Zilla Parishad Chairperson Dunna Janardhanarao.
"The darkest day in my life was when Tuffy died due to a heart ailment. For me it was more than a pet. It shared my moments of joy and sorrow equally and prefer starving when I used to go on camp," explained the former engineer to the VIPs with tears in his eyes.
