Three-day music festival

THRISSUR, JUNE 8. A three-day music festival, to be held at the Neeranjali Hall here from June 11, would pay tribute to the Trinity of Carnatic music - Tyagaraja, Muthuswamy Deekshitar and Syama Sastri).

The festival, being organised by the Vivekananda Sangeetha Sadas and the Nada Laya Pravah Academy of Music, will be inaugurated by the Mayor, K. Radhakrishnan.

Concerts by N. P. Ramaswamy and K. Sivaramakrishnan will follow the inaugural meeting. Neyyattinkara Mohanachandran will sing rare compositions of the Trinity.

A saxophone recital by M. S. Lavanya, M. S. Subbalakshmi and M. S. Sudhindhra will be another attraction.

The musicians to be featured on July 12 include Pallavur Krishnankutty, Mangad Natesan, Seetha Doraiswamy and the Rudrapatnam brothers.

The Pancharatna compositions will be rendered at 10-15 a.m. on July 13.

Concerts by Bangalore Kodandaraman, Radha Bhaskar, Adoor Sudarsan, Mudikondan Ramesh, U. P. Raju, Thiruppanthuruthi Venkatesan, Bangalore M. T. Selvanarayana, Palladam Venkitaramana Rao, Prapancham Balachandran and G. N. Desikan will also be held.
