BHOPAL, JUNE 8. Notorious dacoit Ramasare Chaubey alias Fakkad Baba, who was absconding for the past 27 years and was wanted in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh for several crimes, surrendered today in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. Fakkad and eight others, including a woman, laid down their arms before the Superintendent of Police, Sajid Farid Shapu, at Baboh police station. Fakkad Baba (55) was carrying a prize of Rs 1 lakh on his head in Uttar Pradesh and Rs 50,000 in Madhya Pradesh. He was involved in more than 200 crimes in the neighbouring states and around 35 in Madhya Pradesh. State Director General of Police, S K Das, told newsmen that the surrender was unconditional. Kusma Nain was carrying a prize of Rs 20,000 in Uttar Pradesh and Rs 15,000 in Madhya Pradesh. Fakkad Baba was a resident of Kanpur while Nain hailed from Jalaun. Ramchandra Vajpayee a resident of Etawah was carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head in Madhya Pradesh. The other dacoits who surrendered were Santosh Dube (34), Kamlesh Vajpayee (32), Bhuresinh Yadav (40), Manoj Mishra (25) all from Etawah, Kamlesh Nishad (27) from Kanpur and Bhagwan Baghail (22) from Jalaun. The dacoits were armed with three USA made 306 bore semi automatic Springfield rifles, automatic carbine, 12 bore double rifle, 303 bore rifle, an ordinance factory made 12 bore rifle, two rifles of 256 bore and a revolver of 32 bore, night vision device and binoculars which were given to the police.
