KOLLAM, JUNE 8. The State-level launch of State Bank of India's `Bhavanasree' project was inaugurated by the Minister for Local Administration, Cherkalam Abdulla, in Anchal on Monday. Bhavanasree is a housing scheme devised exclusively at concessional interest rate for the members of `Kudumbashree' Neighbourhood Groups jointly with Kerala State Kudumbashree Mission. Under this programme, around 50,000 families throughout the State would be helped by various banks in association with `Kudumbashree' mission, Kerala. The borrowers are also insured for the cost of the house as a part of the loan component so that the surviving family members were not burdened with the loan liability. This programme is mainly aimed at women and a large number of women participated in the launching programme. C. Narasimhan, Chief General Manager, SBI, handed over `Letter of Allocation' for Rs.10 crores to T. K. Jose, Executive Director, `Kudumbashree.'
