Govt. stand in Balakrishna case unchanged: Jana
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
JUNE 8.
Despite appeals and pressures, the Government's stand on the Balakrishna case "remains unchanged", said the Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy.
Questioned on these lines at a press conference here this evening, the Home Minister was emphatic in saying that "law takes its own course". On whether the Government would take a lenient view "on humanitarian grounds" as pleaded by the NTR Telugu Desam Party president, N. Lakshmi Parvathi, with the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Reddy said, the existing laws were framed based on humanitarian principles and for the protection of such principles.
The Home Minister, however, said that Balakrishna's brothers who were allegedly present at his house that night, might not face charges since the actor had confessed to opening the fire himself.
