MYSORE, JUNE 8. Members of Karnataka State Safai Karamchari and Poura Karmikara Vidyarthi Sangha staged a dharna today. They were protesting the Government's decision to continue to run the Rajendra Nagar Urdu School in a dilapidated building. Alleging that the Government had ignored infrastructural needs of schools, the members said that the lives of more than 350 children studying at the school were under threat. The lives of the teachers were also in danger, they said. They said that the MCC certified the building as unfit for human use in 1992, and even ordered the demolition of the building. Despite this, the members said, that the Government wanted the school to continue functioning in the same building. The demonstrators demanded that the school be shifted to the government school complex.
