Kurnool
By Our Staff Reporter
The test-tube baby delivered at Kurnool.
KURNOOL, JUNE 8. The Aditya Test Tube baby centre assisted the delivery of first test baby here recently. The Managing Director of Centre, K. Tirupal Reddy, said a couple had approached the centre for treatment in October and had been advised to undergo in-vitro fertilisation. He said the treatment had been successful in the first attempt, and the woman had delivered a baby in the local hospital on June 2. Mr. Reddy said the centre would help infertile couples undergo the treatment locally and at a low cost. He said that in 50 per cent of the cases, the problem lay with the men. Infertility problems that were common in the coalmine belt had also been noticed in and around Kurnool, he said. The centre had treated 40 cases through IVF so far, he added.
