Unidentified persons gained entry into a jewellery shop belonging to Prabhakaran at Thokkottu junction along National Highway 17 near here on Tuesday and decamped with 700 grams of silverware worth Rs. 6,000. The incident took place between 4 a.m. and 4.30 a.m., according to a complaint lodged by the owner with the police. The police said the thieves forced open the shutter and gained entry into the shop.
