No power

COIMBATORE, JUNE 8 . There will be no power supply in the following areas between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on June 9 owing to maintenance work at Mallur and Vembadithalam substation: Mallur town, Panamarathupatty, Thirumanoor, Parapatty, Ondiyur, Keeranur Valasu, Keeranur, Komarapalayam, Elampillai town, Gandhi Nagar, Thappakuttai, Siddharkoil, Kaungalpatty, Edanganasalai, K.K. Nagar, Vembadithalam, K.K. Palayam, Magudanchavadi.

At Mettupalayam substation: Mettupalayam, Sirumugai, Nellithurai, Thekkampatty and Jadayampalayam.

On June 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Irugur substation: Irugur, Ondipudur, Odderpalayam, Uppilipalayam, Mylampatti (one region), Pallapalayam, Vellanaipatti (one region), Kannampalayam, Nehru Nagar, Kalapatty and Neelikonampalayam.

Mahotsavam

The Thirukalyana Mahotsavam of Purushotaman Kalki Bhagawan and Annapoorni Padmavathy Devi will be performed on June 9 at the Indian Medical Association Hall.

Exchange

The State Bank of India, R.S. Puram will operate special counters for exchange of soiled and mutilated notes and distribution of coins on June 13. The counters will function between 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Coaching

Anna IAS Academy is offering coaching for the Civil Services Preliminary Examinations scheduled for May 2005. The application forms can be obtained from Anna IAS Academy, No 2 VOC Main Road, Kodambakkam, Chennai- 600 024. The last date for submitting the application form is July 19, according to a release.
