KOCHI, JUN 8 . A workshop for grama panchayat presidents and secretaries for providing awareness on the proposed biogas plants using organic waste will be conducted by the Ernakulam district panchayat on June 11 at the grama panchayat community hall, Thrikkakara. The workshop, held in association with the Biotech Centre for Development of Biogas Technology and Other Conventional Energy Sources, Thiruvananthapuram, aims at providing information about the organic solid waste management through biogas plants. The District Panchayat proposes to install 1,000 biogas plants in the district during this financial year.
